Perennial is an extension of Jessie’s solo sculpture exhibition at ‘Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun’. During the research process and material development she created many images of plants and natural matter.
The documentation technique of scanning was used as a way to hold the living things in a visual state of limbo. Becoming a more realistic way of documenting an object/sculpture than just a flat photograph. Although some images were presented in the show most were discarded and so these remnants were developed further into this supporting publication.
