Silver on Gold
(2016)
Silver on Gold explores loss and landscape through the pages of the book and fading text. Following the death of his grandfather, Tim Burrough returned to a coastal path close to where his grandfather grew up. He was struck by the visible layering of history present on the Jurassic Coast, an area that is subjected to the slow erosion and manipulation of its landmass by the sea. A chance encounter with a small trickle of water turned silver by the light over the warm golden rock face inspired this short prose.
