Acronym for Daydreaming
(2020)
In autumn 2018, Turbida Lux was invited to work with the Museum for the History of Photography's archive, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. We were particularly captivated by a donation received from a 85 year old Russian woman, compromising several photo albums and loose portrait pictures. In an interview produced by the museum, the lady drew their attention to a group of photographs that men and soldiers had given her as mementos. According to her, these presents made her realize what kind of woman she is, but when asked what kind of woman that was, she did not answer. Her silence was the catalyst for our project.
The publication includes an afterword by Pedro Gomez-EgaƱa.
